This freeform Tiffany Stone cabochon(Utah)is also known as Bertrandite, Opal Fluorite, or Utah Lavender. A silica and/or calcium carbonate base predominately of opalite, and agate (chalcedony), but not excluding jasper, quartzite, and dolomite. Purples caused by fluorine gases and blacks form manganese oxide. Patterns are diverse and different from piece to piece with seldom any two stones exactly the same. Dendrites, plumes, crackly patterns, smooth ice creams, wild flows and laces occur and some times variable mixes of these happen in Tiffany stone. All of our cabochons are cut with a rounded dome, polished flat back, and back cut to accommodate bezel settings. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
