This freeform cabochon is from Demming, New Mexico. It is actually calcite and onyx is just a misnomer. The cab displays rich flowing banding and has a high polish. All of our cabochons are cut with a rounded dome, polished flat back, and back cut to accommodate bezel settings. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
