This freeform cabochon is cut from material was originally found in Death Valley California before it became a National Park. It is aslo known as Death Valley Picture Rock and is now found in old collections as no new material can now be collected. The matte finish is due to it being softer than most jaspers. It features a striking contrast of the partially silicified sedimentary materials and the veins of hematite. All of our cabochons are cut with a rounded dome, polished flat back, and back cut to accommodate bezel settings. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
