This freeform cabochon is from the original Elkins Deschutes Picture Jasper deposit. Dechutes Picture Jasper comes from a stone deposit a little east of Biggs Junction, Oregon, near the Deschutes River. This picture jasper deposit is now located in a State Park and will never be mined again. All of our cabochons are cut with a rounded dome, polished flat back, and back cut to accommodate bezel settings. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
