This freeform cabochon is from the Rte 15 Quarry, Lima, Montana. It displays distinct banding and is actually calcite. Onyx is just a misnomer. All of our cabochons are cut with a rounded dome, polished flat back, and back cut to accommodate bezel settings. Colors may vary somewhat from what is pictured due to differences in computer monitors.
